“It really was amazing, thought Mindy, the way modern electronics made it so easy to ignore those people who were physically so close.”
― James Rozoff, Writer
Electronics deals with electrical circuits that involve active electrical components such as vacuum tubes, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, and sensors, associated passive electrical components, and interconnection technologies. Commonly, electronic devices contain circuitry consisting primarily or exclusively of active semiconductors supplemented with passive elements; such a circuit is described as an electronic circuit.
Engineering career comprises of making and inventing things beyond the knowledge of others and working on them to make them far better than the model before. So that people will never have to face problems. This makes their lives very easy. There is a branch of Engineering named Electronics and Communication Engineering. This branch mainly focuses on the collaboration and synchronization of electronics with communication devices and mainly computers.

This article provides you with information relevant to some project work on Electronics and Communication which will really help you in the future.
Before discussing directly about the projects, let us talk something about the fields in which making projects are possible.
Project Fields – Electronics and Communication Engineering Projects
Coding is the passion of every Engineering student, it creates a lot of joy in them while coding. Even in many colleges, many coding competitions takes place. These competitions encourages the student to make his career in coding field. In this field, projects can also be made to get more and more knowledge. One can make projects based on databases, Bug Tracking Systems, Machine Learning, etc. Projects in coding can be made using different languages like JAVA, C/C++, Python, etc. So, if you are a true coder, then this field is for you. Become a super expert in coding by clicking here.
Robotics is also a great field for project ideas. In robotics, student can explore many options like creating a Light Follower robot, Maze solver robot, etc. Many other robotics project includes advanced projects like Hexapods, Mobile Robots or even Voice controlled robots. The functionality and advancements in the working of robots will depend upon the creativity and knowledge level of creator. A robot project will enhance your reputation among your friends too. But, it is rather little difficult to work on. You can also buy a robotics kit and work on a robot with the help of the kit. To Make your own Robot, click here.
IoT(Internet of Things)
This is rather a very vast topic and needs a lot of knowledge. But, projects which comes under this platform are really the awesome ones. These projects contain everything that needs to be included in a perfect project. internet of Things is the name given to the task of connecting hardware with software. So, for working on these projects, you will need to be interested in both coding as well hardware devices. Click here to learn more fantastic things about Internet of Things.
This is also rather a very vast topic and requires a lot of knowledge. But again, projects under this topic are awesome too. These projects promotes the use of latest technology. These projects mainly focuses on working systems which are inside a heavy machinery like robot. A robot includes many parts like motherboards, microprocessors, ICs, Microcontrollers, etc. To work on these parts is very difficult but as well as interesting.
Project Works – Electronics and Communication Engineering Projects
So, now let us finally have a look on some of the project works that you can work upon.
Weather Monitoring System using IoT
Reports states that the IoT Technology is going to transform into a multi-trillion dollar market and more than 50 billion devices will be connected to the Internet using this technology by 2020. This project helps you to understand the integration of sensors onto the IoT device and their calibration. By doing this project you will develop an electronic device that can sense the temperature/ humidity changes and send updates to the user from a remote location. Further, it can be programmed in such a way that the user will get an email and sms update based on a threshold value that you set.
You need 3 major components to build this project,
- DHT Sensor – It will detect the temperature/ humidity changes in the environment
- Arduino Uno – It will act as the brain of the system and processes the data from the sensor
- WiFi Module – This will integrate the system onto cloud and send updates to user
IoT using Raspberry Pie
This project introduces you to the amazing world of IoT and its fascinating applications. Raspberry Pi is a miniature size standalone computer that can work independently and control a system. Using a Raspberry Pi computer and a DHT sensor, you will develop an electronic device that streams temperature and humidity data over the internet. You can program the system in such a way that say whenever the temperature exceeds a certain limit, the device will automatically send an email notification.
To build this IoT using Raspberry Pi you will need 2 major components,
- DHT Sensor – It will detect the temperature/ humidity changes in the environment and sends the data to Raspberry Pi
- Raspberry Pi – It will act as the brain of the system and processes the data from the sensor & facilitates the remote user update
Motion Controlled Servos using IoT
The main objective of this project is to explain the real time data streaming over the Internet through an IoT device. The system you build will have servo motors and a raspberry pi board. Leap Motion controller tracks the motion tracking and PubNub library streams the data. The combination of four servos and two 8×8 RGB LED matrices detects the motion of the hands and displays colors according to the spacing between fingers.
You need to work with the following components to build the IoT project,
- Raspberry Pi – It will act as the brain of the system and processes the data & facilitates the motion of servos
- Servo Motors – It will receive commands from the Raspberry Pi and operates accordingly
- Leap Motion Controller – This is used for the motion tracking
- Glove – This will contain the Pulse Sensor to facilitate the sensing action
Library Automation using RFID
We are bringing into play RFID technology in this library automation system. This technology works by identifying persons & books based on the unique tag number & a microcontroller LPC2148 which is of ARM7 structural design. Moreover, this microcontroller will process the information & will send to the personal computer data base, the data base will be accumulated in this computer & will maintain the record about the person who has taken the book, which book is he taking & in the same manner the record will be upgraded when the book is returned. The software utilized in this library automation system is Embedded ‘C’ Programming Language. Moreover, Some other tools used in the system are Keil software product, Flash Magic Application. The advantages of this library automation system are – easy way to keep a record of books in proper manner, identifying the library members and too cost effective.
Moreover, Latest technology innovations attracts consumers. A number of innovative technologies are now available in the field of engineering to use which were not there few years back. No matter, what’s the class of industry, engineering services are greatly in demand these days. These latest engineering projects innovations helps to reduce the burden of work were as saves a great amount of time.
Development of Embedded Web Server on ARM9 Project
The principal objective of this embedded web server project is to construct an efficient embedded web server. With the speedy growth of embedded technology, to a great extent embedded gadgets (like intelligent devices, wireless sensor, etc.,) are in demand for embedded-network connection for a shared action. Moreover, connecting embedded systems to the net has been an imperative expansion direction, and which is one of essential roles for the embedded systems in the upcoming future. Based on this approach, we have selected to run any net application on an embedded object. Web server is one of the main applications in this web server project. To put into practice a web server a vigorous and dependable TCP/IP load is necessary.
Hexapod using Aruduino
A Hexapod robot is a mechanical robot that walks on six legs. Also, Hexapod robots are very stable when compared with two or more legs robots even in slightly rocky and uneven terrain with flexible movements. Due to this capability of walking on various terrains, Hexapods find multiple of applications. By doing this project you can learn about the Arduino & its programming, working of servo motors etc.
Maze Solver Robot
This project involves designing and building of a robot that can find its way out from a maze. IR sensors will detect the maze lines and send data to the microcontroller. The robot will move through the maze arena using the infrared optical sensors. It is programmed in such a way that whenever the robot detects a junction, the bot intelligently decides the path using a special algorithm.
Moreover, you can still work on many other platforms other than the above project ideas. These platforms include coding languages like MATLAB, Machine Learning, PSPICE, etc. These platforms are great for software project works. IoT, Robotics and embedded systems uses these projects.
